Academy Awards' website - Oscar

The newly revamped Web site of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, officially launching Tuesday - Oscars.org.

It's for almost anyone with an interest in movies, depending on the level of interest, there's something there for everybody. The site is more than an extensive homage to the Academy Awards. Visitors can learn about the academy's vast film and script archives. Both open to the public. They can discover educational programs for young filmmakers, glimpse artwork from upcoming academy exhibitions: Fellini's sketches are on view now. Visitors can there meet the people who vote on the Oscars via video.

There's also a link to YouTube page and a chance to receive automated Oscar trivia questions.

The Academy Awards is the wonderful phenomenon. That's the reasons the organization embarked on an eight-month effort to overhaul its site. The group aims to spread the word about its year-round events that encourage appreciation of movies and the people who make them..

BAHAMAS - DEATH OF J. TRAVOLTA

In the Bahamas an official with a funeral home (Glen Campbell is assistant director of the funeral home) says that Jett Travolta's death certificate says he was killed by a "seizure."

Glen tells that the body is in "great condition" and shows no sign of head trauma. Authorities performed an autopsy Monday, January 5th, but didn't release the results. G. Campbell said that the certificate was based on the autopsy findings, and gave no information on the cause of death beyond the word "seizure."

Jett Travolta's body is ready for burial in Ocala, Florida.

Oprah and lies...

The dominoes fell after Herman Rosentblat, who had been telling a little story about meeting his wife at the fence of Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany... for 12 years, recanted his story. After a New Republic article raised their questions, publisher Berkley Books canceled his memoir. Another publisher offered refunds for "Angel Girl", inspired by Rosenblat's tale. (By the way, Berkley Books already fooled twice by other authors.)
His hoax had amazed Oprah... Hollywood, which always changes the truth, is going on with a film project that based on the well-meant but discredited tale...

Where Are They Now????????????

Where Are They Now????
Where Have All The Shakers Gone?:
The funny thing that many of the people who are now keeping a low profile are doing so in order to keep their own sanity.

Cole is raising a child, having suffered through a difficult divorce and (www.PaulaCole.com), is working through things at her own pace. She continues to make music. She's better with things than when she was younger. Part of this has to do with receiving royalty checks that enable her to focus on the better things in life. Because those musicians who are still cleaning windows for a living are much more bitter.

Tayler Dayne took off 15 years. She's showing up on country programming. What else should no longer super young blonde singers do? Taylor judged some shows. You can find her at www.TaylorDayne.com.

Lou Bega (Mambo #5): David LuBega is a one hit wonder with his re-write of the Prez Prado hit "Mambo #5." It was a hit nearly ten years ago. And since then, Bega has released several albums to lesser interest. The "Conchita" from 2005 was a hit, but there's no chart action. He also covered "Just A Gigolo" which was a bigger hit for David Lee Roth back when he was running low on ideas. He has a website at www.LouBega.com that list concerts that happened in 2007.

Brian Kelly and P. Diddy...

The UC football players in FLA for the Orange Bowl should enjoy their stay in the luxurious Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. But they’re probably not going to be there much longer.

Hip-hop artist Sean - P. Diddy - Combs is decided to have a New Year’s Eve party there on Wednesday night

UC coach Brian Kelly is leaning toward moving his players to another hotel on the night before the Orange Bowl.

Kelly said that it’s too much of a distraction. They have secured another hotel. If things go the way he has seen them go in that hotel after 12 o’clock, they’ll be in another hotel on New Year’s Eve.

The strobe lights and sirens, topless women and unbelievable volumes of alcohol.... Why Kelly would be worried?..
